Naomi has hair and likes it!
Naomi actually has enough hair to put into piggy tails! Kind of. And she likes it!
I've tried to actually put little clippies in her hair but she would take them out immediately. Grandma bought her some little pony tail holders and she suddenly decided she loves them! I kind of figured since she hasn't had hair for 2 1/2 years she would never want her hair done but now she loves having her hair done. Now it just needs to get thicker so they will stay in when she moves, lays down, or sneezes........ :)
Eli's Presents
Some of Eli's presents were legos and the a Klutz book called "Lego contraptions".
It has directions and extra parts to make cool contraptions. The picture is of Enoch's creation he made with Eli's legos. The contraption they have been playing with lately is a cable car we made. It zooms along a string and at the end a trapdoor opens up and things fall out. ( It started with a lego man with a napkin parachute but of course there was much experimentation. )
Eli's birthday
We really need to get that camera fixed!!!! The only pictures we could take were with photobooth on the computer. Pretty sad!
Eli's birthday was a crazy affair. Dad was in Utah defending his Dissertation propasal. (Which went fabulously by the way.)
I decided I was to lazy to cook lunch so we went to the Dairy Queen. (Ours is actually pretty cool.) There I was hanging out with my five children at Dairy queen trying to convince them that we didn't need ice cream with out lunch because there would be plenty of that later. I received nice compliments from the next table over on how well-behave my children are. Then they started to get restless and the restaurant suddenly filled with people. So I tried to leave. We are all trying to weave through everybody. Enoch is stressing because he's afraid I'll lose them. Naomi drops her little bit of leftover cheeseburger, and I mistakenly throw it away. She follows after me crying for her cheeseburger. I pause to tell the cashier who had offered a birthday treat that we couldn't stay but thank-you anyway, then hear screaming. Eli has accidentally shut Joel's fingers in the door. It feels like all 5 of my children are screaming and everyone is looking at me with that, " oh, why didn't someone tell her about birth control look." In all actuality only 2 children were crying and they had perfectly good reasons. Believe it or not, I will take them all out by myself again.
Later on, after much playing we made the cake and dinner. The cake was a sand castle cake, again from FAMILY FUN. It looked like a sand castle cake. Sandy, and slowly disintegrating. Eli loved it, bless his heart. We also made individual homemade pizzas. Needless to say the kitchen looked like World War 3. I believe there were enough crumbs on the floor for another whole meal. The dishes were daunting. (Bart's lucky he wasn't there. :)
Then we did a video chat with daddy while we opened presents. In the end it was lots of fun. But Mom was pooped!

More Apple Blossom
Apple Blossom In Wenatchee, WA
We were able to go up to Wenatchee for Apple Blossom Festival this year. I loved being able to share with the kids and Bart, something I really enjoyed as a kid. Down in Cache Valley they haven't quite figured out Festivals as far as I have seen. It was nice to enjoy the two hour parade with royalty, bands and floats from all over the State. The Craft Fair was huge, and was all crafts! (I'm afraid there wasn't a Pampered Chef booth, Stampin up booth, or a Republican booth.:))
We are yummy food at the food fair, and the kids enjoyed riding at the train down at the park. (well worth it's 2 dollars a person price!!!) We had a ball.
It was also nice for me to see all my extended family. It was like old times with all my cousins!
